About the Author
Anthony L. Mescher is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. in anatomy from the University of Minnesota and has been teaching histology and cell biology for over 40 years.
Dr. Mescher is a renowned histologist and has authored numerous scientific papers and books in the field, including “Junqueira’s Basic Histology,” which he has co-authored since the 12th edition. He has received several teaching awards for his exceptional work in educating medical students and allied health professionals.
He has also served as the Chair of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa and has held numerous leadership positions in professional organizations, including the American Association of Anatomists and the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists.
